Dexter is my adorable mixed breed rescue pup! He was lucky to be pulled from a high kill shelter in Tennessee around the age of 5 months old and given a second chance at life.
I’ve loved him from the moment I first saw him, almost 2 years ago! He has such a kind and gentle personality and absolutely loves being around people. Dexter is notorious for throwing his paws in the air when he is really excited about something. He is such a happy dog and is full of energy! Dexter and Paige get along wonderfully. He is often compared to the talents of his older doggie sister, Paige, and is now nipping at her heels and developing his very own repertoire of tricks!
I use clicker training when teaching Dexter new behaviors and tricks. Positive reinforcement entails rewarding, or reinforcing, a dog for desired behavior with food, toys, praise, or the environment. Clicker training is a way of training animals in which desirable behavior is marked with a click and then reinforced, making the behavior more likely to happen in the future. By using this method of training, Dexter has flourished.
I love my Dexterpup wholeheartedly and our lives would not be the same without him!
